“New Tram Line Plans Face Approval Battle in The Hague, Leidschendam-Voorburg and Rijswijk”

Before the new tram line is built, the municipalities of The Hague, Leidschendam-Voorburg and Rijswijk must approve the plans. Leidschendam-Voorburg is the first of three municipalities to be affected. ‘If these plans are approved, a kind of battle will really arise,’ thinks Van Veen. ‘Voorburg wants to make the Binckhorstlaan car-free, Rijswijk the Geestbrugweg, The Hague the Maanweg, the province the Westvlietweg. They will soon say yes, while there is still no idea how all those plans will come together. There’s a lot to fight for.’
