We already knew that loading times are getting shorter on the next-gen consoles, but not yet exactly how fast. At least thanks to a new trailer, we know how long it will take to boot The Outer Worlds on the Xbox Series S, compared to the One S.
In a new trailer, Microsoft compares loading times for The Outer Worlds on the Xbox One S and the new Xbox Series S.
The images show how long it takes on both consoles to start the game from the menu in Obsidians rpg. The Xbox Series S takes about 11 seconds to boot, while the older Xbox One S takes about 54 seconds.
Like the Series X, the Xbox Series S includes an NVMe SSD with a read and write speed of 2.4 GB / s. The storage capacity of the Series S is 512 GB, while the more expensive Series X has a 1TB SSD.
Microsoft also reports that the Velocity Engine architecture contributes to the shorter loading times and that games start up faster thanks to the Quick Resume option.
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will be released on November 10 for 299 and 499 euros respectively. The consoles can be reserved on Tuesday, September 22 from 09:00.
