Games Workshop continues to develop the Warhammer 40,000 universe, in which there is only darkness, pain, horror and war. The company announced a new edition of the legendary board game and published a pretentious trailer in which the elite of the Space Marines fight off the invasion of the evolved tyranids with the last of their strength.
Were you foolish enough to believe that Hive Fleet Leviathan was finally defeated on Baal? It was just the avant-garde. Now the rest have arrived and they have evolved.
The Imperium, experiencing multiple existential conflicts on too many fronts, is open and weakened, and its main forces are on the wrong side of the galaxy. Leviathan, previously considered pacified, is just beginning to act.
The largest hive fleet in history swept through the galactic west, destroying hundreds of worlds unable to put up a full defense in the face of this living apocalypse.
Unable to use the full power of the war machine, Imperial commanders send in elite strike teams in a desperate attempt to stop the endless tide of Tyranids. The destruction of the leaders of the Synapses will buy valuable time to mobilize the unwieldy power of the war machine of mankind.
The new edition will also receive a new starter pack, which the developers consider “the best in the history of Warhammer”. It will include Space Marines and a Tyranid army that has undergone “the biggest upgrade ever”. Many rules have also been reworked.
More details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
