New Time Limitations for Immigrant Families in Shelters: Exclusive Interview with Mayor Eric Adams

In an exclusive interview with Univision 41, he indicated that “new time limitations” will soon come so that immigrant families can stay in the shelters. However, she preferred not to specify the exact days yet.

“The policies that we are going to apply seek to set a limit for people to stay. We have not made the formal announcement yet, but this cannot be permanent,” said Eric Adams.

“We must allow people to get on with their lives or find a level of sustainability for themselves,” the mayor added.

Eric Adams denounces that “more arrive than leave”

The mayor of New York City, who recently toured Latin America to address the immigration crisis, including a visit to Darien, said he understood the discontent of New Yorkers.

“I understand that they are frustrated and I share it. We want the National Government to do its job, it is its responsibility,” he said.

He also expressed that it “breaks his heart” when he does not receive solutions from President Joe Biden.

“They have responded at certain levels, with actions at the border and deporting those who are not eligible for asylum, particularly from Venezuela. They also granted TPS, but we do not have the time for the slow pace of bureaucracy,” said Eric Adams.

“Every time we receive more than 10,000 immigrants, more arrive than leave, which is not sustainable,” he said.
