The free rapid tests are to play an increasingly important role in combating the pandemic in the future. That is why further test centers are also starting up in Meißen. Free tests are now possible in the rooms next to the tourist information office at Markt 3 and in the Meißner Kino at Theaterplatz 14. The test centers are open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration is not required.
Who is testing?
Both stations are operated in cooperation with DRK Meissen. While the station on the market was set up in the premises of the former café with the support of the trade association and the city of Meißen, the Filmpalast Meißen provides rooms and staff on Theaterplatz. “I am delighted that we, together with our partners DRK, the Filmpalast Meißen and the Meißen Trade Association, have been able to open two stations in Meißner’s old town in a very short time,” said business developer Martin Schuster. “We would also like to thank the volunteers who have been specially trained for this today so that they can carry out the tests on site from Monday.” The staff consists primarily of employees from the “Müller Restaurants”, the Meißner cinema, members of the Trade association and members of the senior citizens’ association. ”
What is the test used for?
“Since customers need a quick test to visit shops and use services, setting up the two stations is also an important support for tradespeople in the old town of Meissen,” explains the business development agency. He himself had worked intensively in the last few days to get the two test stations up and running.
For the operation and organization of test stations, the DRK is still looking for volunteers who work in the test centers in return for payment of an expense allowance.
