New terrorist attack against the Venezuelan Electrical System affects 25% of the country –

TeleSUR

A new terrorist attack against Venezuela’s electrical system affected approximately 25% of the country, according to official reports. The Minister of Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, described the incident as sabotage of the National Electric System (SEN), pointing out that a strong fluctuation was registered in several states and in the capital, Caracas. Although he did not provide specific details, the minister attributed the failure to an “attack on the transmission system.”

The impact of the attack was immediately felt in the capital, where underground transportation was forced to suspend operations for approximately an hour. Authorities have reported that service is being gradually restored. Faced with this situation, Minister Márquez assured that Corpoelec, the state electricity company, is working hard to recover the load and restore service in the affected areas. In his statements, he estimated that the normalization of the electricity supply would take between 40 minutes and an hour.

The official reiterated the nature of the incident, calling it a “terrorist attack on the country’s electrical system.” Despite the seriousness of the situation, Márquez highlighted the work of the electrical sector workers, stating that, thanks to their efforts, the service is in the process of being restored. This event once again highlights the vulnerability of the country’s critical infrastructure and raises questions about the security measures implemented to protect the SEN.

Continued blow against the National Electrical System

This recent attack joins a series of similar incidents that have affected the Venezuelan electrical system in recent months. On August 27, the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, had already denounced a terrorist attack attributed to the extreme right, which affected line 765 of the SEN.
