New Technology, Xiaomi Battery Has a Larger Capacity

Jakarta: Not only innovating smartphone features, but Xiaomi in recent years has brought the latest innovations on the battery side of the device. Now they are reported to be in the process of mass production for batteries with new technology.

If previously Xiaomi focused on the evolution of battery charging technology, now they are innovating with the form as well as the technology in it. Xiaomi is said to have succeeded in making smartphone batteries of the same physical size but with a power capacity (mAh) of 10 percent larger than the current one.

Quoted from WCCF Tech, on the Weibo account Xiaomi announced that they are developing a battery with High-Silicon Lithium material which makes the power capacity (mAh) bigger but the physical size of the battery remains the same.

The effect is that the latest smartphones with technology will have a larger battery capacity with a size that remains the same or does not increase in size or width. Xiaomi claims the technology in it is able to provide an additional 10 percent capacity at the same size or volume.

The additional 10 percent capacity may not sound like a significant increase, but it helps vendors create new specifications without making the smartphone have a wide body.

On the other hand, Xiaomi also created a new circuit component to make the design of the battery shape slimmer or not wider. This will provide the remaining space in the component parts of the smartphone to be used by other feature components.

Xiaomi also claims that apart from a 100 percent increase, its latest battery technology also brings better efficiency with the added ability to last up to 100 minutes.

The new Xiaomi battery is claimed to be coming to the market in mid-2022, so it is likely that this technology will not be present in the Xiaomi 12 smartphone which is predicted to be released early next year with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
