New TCL NxtPaper Technology Smartphones and Tablets Make a Splash at CES 2024 in Las Vegas

Smartphones and tablets with NxtPaper technology made a splash at the tech show in Las Vegas.

At CES 2024 in Las Vegas TCL presented 50 series smartphones and new tablets with NxtPaper displays. This technology works by using a multi-layer screen coating. It removes glare, filters harmful blue radiation, and also tactilely and visually resembles the surface of paper.

List of new smartphones:

  • TCL 50 SE;
  • TCL 50 5G;
  • TCL 50 XE 5G;
  • TCL 50 XE NxtPaper 5G;
  • TCL 50 XL 5G;
  • TCL 50 XL NxtPaper 5G;
  • TCL 50 LE.

The TCL 50 XL 5G features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The TCL 50 XE 5G has a smaller 6.6-inch panel with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phones received 50 megapixel main cameras, 4 GB of RAM and a 5010 mAh battery. The TCL 50 XL NxtPaper and 50 XE NxtPaper models differ from them in their “paper screens”.

In addition to smartphones, TCL announced NxtPaper 14 Pro tablets and Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G. The first received a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as a 12,000 mAh battery. The second was equipped with a 10.4-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a brightness of 700 nits. The battery costs less – 6000 mAh.

The prices of the new products have not yet been disclosed. It is known that sales of gadgets will start in the spring of 2024.
