A tax refund of up to $1,200.00 USD is on schedule for Washington residents before the end of 2023.
This is the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC), in which taxpayers could receive from $50.00 USD to $1,200.00 USD.
But, to do this, interested parties must be active and claim it before the possibilities of requesting it are reduced with the end of the year.
The amount they receive will depend on factors such as income, the number of members and the number of dependents they have.
What are the eligibility requirements?
The first thing is to have a Social Security number, ITIN or official identification. They must also have lived in Washington more than half the year.
You must be at least 25 years old or no older than 65, and those who have a qualifying child in 2022 are also eligible.
On the other hand, it is important to have filed a 2022 tax return. Finally, you must be eligible to claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit on your 2022 tax return.
Washington residents have until December 31 to apply for WFTC. To do this, you must present a copy of your federal tax return that you submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The Social Security Number or Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is also necessary.
Also required are the date of birth of the taxpayer, spouse and children, and driver’s license or state identification number.
Finally, the postal and residential address as well as the bank ID and account number are required if you choose direct deposit.
There are several ways to apply. This can be online or by electronic submission. If done online, it would be through MyDOR, the tax filing system, which is available in English and Spanish.
If done electronically, tax preparation software provided by various companies must be used. But in addition, the application can also be submitted by mail or in person with a PDF download.
