Jean-Nol Gurini draws the attention of the Minister of Health and Prevention to the significant increase in new synthetic drugs.
In its European Drug Report 2022, the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) notes that almost 7 tonnes of new psychoactive substances were seized in 2020. At the end of 2021, the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction) monitored around 880, 52 of which were reported for the first time in Europe in 2021. Some have very worrying effects, such as synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl; Considered a hundred times more potent than morphine and far more addictive, they are the cause of many overdoses in the United States.
In France, the DRAMES survey (deaths related to drug and substance abuse) counts 15 deaths due to synthetic drugs in 2020, against 77 certainly due to cocane, but for a much lower number of users. Therefore it is very alarming that 3-MMC and its derivatives, which are three times cheaper than cocaine, can be ordered so easily via Telegram or WhatsApp and are gaining much ground in party circles.
The constant modification of the composition of these products makes it possible to circumvent the laws and to escape drug tests, asking them how to be able to stem their progression.
Awaiting response from the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
