According to a new survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting, Ganjar Pranowo has regained the lead in the race for the 2024 presidential election after being nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle. The survey, conducted from April 25-28 among well-informed voters with internet and political news access, shows Ganjar receiving 20.8% of support, a significant increase from the previous survey. Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto trails at second with 15.8% of votes, while former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan comes third with 11.4% of votes. However, in a hypothetical race that includes four candidates backed by political parties—Ganjar, Prabowo, Anies, and Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto—Ganjar and Prabowo remain in a statistical dead heat, with Ganjar projected to receive 30.4% of votes and Prabowo 29.5%. The margin of error is only 3.1 percentage points, indicating a razor-thin race between the two candidates.
