Subaru presented the new bZ4X, a electric vehicle project falling within the category C-SUV, made in collaboration with Subaru, lasting several years. Solterra, this is the name of the concept car, will be marketed under the Shibuya brand from 2022 all over the world: almost an absolute novelty in the automotive sector.
Subaru and Toyota have joined forces to make Solterra, which will be released in 2022.

The strong point of Subaru Solterra is definitely there modular platform e-Subaru Global Platform, the zero-emission version that includes a lowering of the center of gravity of about 5 mm, with greater torsional rigidity, high energy absorption and an ad hoc predisposition for vehicles with hybrid power. The next step is given by the new e-SGP platform created together with Toyota and dedicated to fully electric vehicles.
Subaru’s press release also explains that each company has brought its own technological skills for the design of a completely new common platform. More precisely, Toyota worked on electrification technology, while Subaru focused on studying a passive safety and vehicle stability system. The whole project is part of a joint strategy: product planning, performance evaluation and styling of the car body.
The name “Solterra”, explained by Subaru, is given byunion of the Latin words “Sol” and “Terra”, necessary according to the Japanese brand to underline the green image of the vehicle with a view to amplifying the relationship between man and nature, also and above all in the way the car is used. Translated: with this electric SUV the driver will be able to face numerous driving experiences.
Subaru Solterra, which will be flanked by the other models in the Outback line, Forester and XV, will come presented in the first half of next year, 2022, in almost all of the most influential markets: North America, China, Japan, Europe. At the moment, however, no further information has been provided regarding the cost.
