New stimulus checks of up to $1,500 will be sent starting this Tuesday

Before January 10, some beneficiaries will already receive their stimulus check worth $1,500.00 USD.

The New Jersey ANCHOR Tax Relief Program is intended for low-income residents who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Furthermore, the New Jersey Affordable Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program offers property tax relief.

Who will receive the stimulus check?

This would be for state residents who own or rent property (such as their primary residence) and who also meet certain income limits.

In the meantime, the goal of the program is to alleviate the financial burden many New Jersey citizens face due to high living expenses.

Therefore, homeowners who owned homes in 2019 and had a combined income of $150,000.00 USD or less in 2023 will receive the refund.

Likewise, homeowners with family income between $150,001.00 USD and $250,000.00 USD may receive $1,000.00 USD.

Tenants with 2019 tax returns showing income of $150,000.00 or less will also receive $450.00 USD.

Who is eligible for the stimulus check?

Homeowners who paid their property taxes in 2019 and lived there until October 1 of that year will be eligible to receive their payment. That is, tenants are eligible as long as they have paid their rent during that date.

On the other hand, those who receive this payment in January must have requested it between October 12 and December 29, 2023.

Applicants will then be able to receive their payments approximately 90 days after applying; except if additional information is requested to process the claim.

However, there are several reasons why the payment could be delayed, or even not arrive. These include: unpaid taxes, traffic tickets or child support.
