Linz, June 5th, 2023 (KAP) From June, the Linz Mariendom will have a new offer for spiritually interested people. Under the title “Tuesday evening in the Mariendom. Pause – Listen – Go in depth” offers “a new, regular offer in the Mariendom the opportunity to pause and recharge in everyday life,” the Diocese of Linz said on Monday. An evening mission will kick off on Tuesday, June 6 (7:30 p.m.). After that, a different offer is on the program each week.
“People use very different ways to find ways to find themselves, to take impulses for their lives and to perceive the world beyond what is immediately obvious,” emphasized the Diocese of Linz. The aim of the new format is to meet this need. The event sees itself “as an open and varied offer that allows plenty of space for individual access,” said Alois Mayer, one of the initiators of the new format.
“We invite people to get to know, feel and experience the special atmosphere of the room,” says Mayer. “Sounds and words, mental impulses, but also silence form the framework to come to yourself and to recharge your batteries ‘from the depths'”.
sounds, music and words
Different accents are set when designing the offer. In addition to evening meditation, the new format “Music & Word” combines sounds with Bible texts, poetry, literature and spiritual tradition. Each evening is dedicated to a special topic. On June 13th, for example, the “beauty of the world” is the focus. Cathedral organist Wolfgang Kreuzhuber improvises to texts of biblical creation poetry, which Christoph Nobody, Rector of the Catholic Private University in Linz, will recite.
“Tuesday evening in the Mariendom” begins at 7.30 p.m., and the individual events last about three quarters of an hour. (Information and dates: www.mariendom.at/dienstagabend)
