“Kamiq and Scala redefined the standards of the compact class when they were introduced to the market, not only for the Škoda brand. Now we have further improved both models and taken their design, interior and functionality to a new level. The new Kamiq and Scala models complement our strong portfolio of cars with internal combustion engines and maintain a strong position in the market,” said CEO Klaus Zellmer.
At the same time, Škoda discounted the existing versions of both cars at the turn of July and August. In these days, it started selling the promotional Fresh model, with which the customer will get equipment and other benefits worth up to 95,800 crowns at Kamiq and 75,800 crowns at Scala.
According to the largest domestic retailer Louda Auto, customers who choose the regular version of Kamiq or Scala can now get a discount of 25,000 crowns from the purchase price at dealers. It starts at 459,900 crowns for the Scala and 479,900 crowns for the Kamiq. According to Pavel Louda from Loudo Auto, the Kamiq could surpass the Fabia in sales this year.

Both modernized cars are built on the concern’s MQB-A0 platform and are equipped with economical 1.0 and 1.5-liter TSI engines with outputs from 70 kW (95 hp) to 110 kW (150 hp) and manual or automatic transmissions. Both models have new front and rear bumpers and grille and redesigned headlights. On request, they are available for the first time with Matrix-LED headlights, familiar from the larger models.
Facelift with improved technological equipment
The new offering structure for both models now consists of three trim levels with four interior variants along with optional equipment packages. The eight-inch mini virtual cockpit and Media infotainment with an 8.25-inch display are part of the standard equipment of all models. As the first Škoda models in the compact class, Scala and Kamiq now offer a virtual pedal with an electrically controlled fifth door, which is available as an option.

The cars are equipped with a number of assistance systems, some of which are commonly associated with cars of higher classes. Standard equipment includes, for example, Front Assist with predictive pedestrian protection, lane keeping assistant and traffic sign recognition. In the event of an accident, passengers are protected by up to nine airbags.
With the launch of the Scala and Kamiq four years ago, Škoda Auto gained new customers for its brand. So far, 230,000 customers have purchased the Scala, and more than 351,000 Kamiq cars have rolled off the production line. In 2021 and 2022, it was Škoda’s best-selling SUV.
