Burgas to Welcome a State-of-the-Art Skate Park in Meden Rudnik Complex
Burgas is set to elevate its urban sports scene wiht the construction of a brand-new skate park in the Meden Rudnik housing complex. Announced on January 17,2025,the project,valued at nearly BGN 1.4 million (excluding VAT), is part of a broader initiative to transform an unused field into a vibrant recreational hub.
The skate park will be located in zone “B” of the complex, specifically on ul. “Co-operator”. Spanning 1,000 sq.m.,it will be integrated into a larger park area covering 5,852 sq.m.,which includes a “Graduation Forest” and a sports and recreation zone. This development marks a meaningful upgrade for the largest residential complex in Burgas, offering residents and visitors a multifunctional space for leisure and sport.
Designed as a “Skate plaza”,the facility will cater to skateboarders,rollerbladers,cyclists,and scooter enthusiasts. Its layout will feature gently sloping ramps,minimal steps,and landscaped elements like benches,railings,and planters. The flooring will be smooth, with minimal joints to ensure a seamless experience for users. Safety and accessibility are top priorities, with all edges and corners covered with metal profiles or high-density natural stone coatings, such as granite.Compared to the existing skate park in the Izgrev residential area, which spans 2,100 sq.m., the new facility will be smaller in size but more refined in design. Unlike the standalone Izgrev park,the Meden Rudnik skate park will be part of a larger park surroundings,enhancing its appeal and usability.
The project is currently in the contractor selection phase, with applications open until Febuary 10, 2025. Once a contractor is chosen, construction will commence, bringing this exciting vision to life.
