New signings Hümmet and Tenho netted in Djurgården’s premiership victory

Djurgården got off to a good start in the Swedish Cup when they played against Skövde on Monday. In the first half, it was the home team for all the money – and 1-0 came after just five minutes.

Piotr Johansson made a nice turn of play out to Felix Va on the left wing. He poked the ball past an opponent and to Lucas Bergvall who made a good deep run and he took the ball down towards the byline before sending it in towards the far post where Deniz Hümmet was first to score the game’s first goal.

It was Hümmet’s first competition goal for Djurgården – and he would receive offers for more.

After 15 minutes, Oskar Fallenius found Hümmet, who had a great opportunity, but was unable to finish.

But two minutes later it was 2-0.

Rasmus Schüller hit a nice cross from the left to compatriot Miro Tenho, who had lingered after a corner – and he headed in the second goal of the match. Also his first competition goal for Djurgården.

The home team pressed for a third goal. And above all, it was Deniz Hümmet who was at the center.

After 20 minutes, Haris Radetinac put a pass over the opposition back line to Hümmet who took the ball into the penalty area and should have scored his second goal – but shot wide.

After 37 minutes it was close again.

Samuel Leach Holm hit a perfect cross from the right to Hümmet who was free and could have taken the ball in, but instead he tried to finish on a strike, and it was unsuccessful and goalkeeper Otto Lindell was able to save.

And after 41 minutes it was again time for Hümmet. Leach Holm pulled away with a hard shot from 25 meters. Lindell was unable to keep the ball and released the return straight to Hümmet, who was completely free and should have scored, but shot at the goalkeeper.

– It’s nice to score your first goal. It was a good ball from Rasmus, Tenho told TV4 during the break and continued about the first half:

– I think we play quite well. We move the ball. If they try pressured, it won’t work. It’s 2-0, but I think we had more chances to score.

Skövde AIK’s Elmar Abraham:- We must dare to play. When we do that, we get to positions and higher up the track, he told TV4.

After 54 minutes, Felix Va advanced and set Fallenius free, but he took a little too long with the finish and Marcus Mikhail poked the ball away.

Djurgården controlled the match and after 74 minutes it was close to Leach Holm increasing the lead. The midfielder combined with Magnus Eriksson and cut in just outside the penalty area – but the ball hit the post.

The match ended 2-0.

– It feels perfectly fine. I think I myself have more gears and we in the team could have scored one, two, three or four more goals. The most important thing was three points and we do a lot of good things today as well, says Djurgården’s Samuel Leach Holm in TV4.

When asked if Djurgården became “comfortable” in act two, the midfielder answers:

– We talked about going for the third. But we get off to a bad start in the second half and it’s perhaps a bit sloppy. After the first half we knew that we were several levels above Skövde and I think we should have drummed it up. But we didn’t get to that level.

Skövde AIK’s Elias Lindell:

– It was tough. We started too badly and it is a prerequisite to start well against Djurgården away from home to get something, he tells TV4 Play.

In the next round, Djurgården will face Nordic, while Skövde AIK will face IFK Göteborg.
