The April Resident Evil Showcase is just around the corner. It will take place at midnight from Thursday to Friday and you can watch it here. But we got new shots from the game Resident Evil Village before it.
Game Informer magazine announcedthat in the coming weeks will bring exclusive content that will cover just the 8th part of the popular survival horror series. We can look forward to videos dedicated to the environment, new enemies, conversations with developers and, of course, there will be new shots directly from the game.
We’ve seen some already. Although the released trailer combines old and new footage rather than a new trailer. The new ones come mainly from the title village, but there is another very interesting shot in which we can see in detail a monster resembling a werewolf.
Through Game Informer we have already learned a few more pieces of information, which, along with a few pictures, were shared by the well-known leaker Dusk Golem thread on Twitter. I will try to summarize the most interesting from this lift.

The werewolves are supposed to be smarter than we might have thought. To the extent that they are to be the smartest enemies across the Resident Evil series. They can wait for you on the roofs or in the bushes and are ready to attack you at any time. They can break things around them, climb up and sprint. They behave differently depending on whether they attack alone or in packs. We even meet more species in the game. Ethan may barricade himself in front of their houses, but he still has to be careful if one of them doesn’t go over the roof.
The village in RE8 does not have any name and there is supposedly some reason for its history, which we will reveal in the game.

Resident Evil Village is supposed to be a combination of everything we have seen in the 25 years of this series. In the game we come across links to previous works several times.
Capcom is aware that Ethan didn’t get much space in RE7, so they decided to continue his story and show us who Ethan Winters really is. They don’t want to reveal Chris Redfield’s role much yet, but we are supposed to know more about his dark side, which he had in the past, but now it’s much worse with it.

The village has the largest environment from the whole series, we also have more open sections, which caused us to often use various strategies in the fights. The game should have the most vertical design of all previous games. Ethan’s speed has been increased, but we are definitely not afraid of the absence of horror. It is said that defending is often better than running away. Ethan doesn’t have to kill enemies right away, but use the environment around him. For example, when it is high above the ground, it is easier to block the enemy’s attack and then drop it.
We have a lot of animals on the way. For example, hens, pigs, horses, fish and more. We can hunt game for meat, eggs and other useful things. We can then either sell them to the merchant or use them to improve our statistics.
The game has improved the fights, but it certainly does not move away from horror. Reportedly, we can look forward to the best puzzles ever in the series. The developers worked hard to make them fun, reasonably difficult, and at the same time fit into the world and the story itself.
Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
