According to Jindřich Kukačka, representative of the RP Kozomín company, which is an investor in the event, people will see the opening before Christmas 2024. “If everything goes according to plan, the doors of the stores will open next year,” confirmed Kukačka, reminding that it will only be commercial zone. “There are no halls or accommodation facilities in the plan,” he added.
The commercial area will be divided into four buildings. One of them will offer a McDonald’s fast food chain and a Benzina gas station, in others customers will find Billa and Penny Market stores, there will be, for example, DM drugstore, Super zoo, Deichman, Sportisimo, Sinsay, Kik or Pepco.
Sidewalk and pedestrian crossing
The area will also include a parking lot for customers and paved areas that will be used for supplying trucks and parking for employees. The total area of the area under consideration is 46,000 square meters.
The project also includes a sidewalk leading along road II/608 to Kozomín. Thanks to this, people from the village can reach the shops safely. According to Kozomín representative Helena Maternová, the company also managed to negotiate a pedestrian crossing at the bus stop.

“At the place where there is a stop, there will be a crossing, which is desperately missing there. Children run across a busy road. The municipality did not manage to solve it for many years,” Maternová explained.
The representative does not reject the business zone. “I have nothing fundamental against the plan, as long as it is not another hall. The shops that should be there are certainly missing in the vicinity,” Hana Maternová remarked.
The new shopping area is a big surprise for many people, as it was not yet known what exactly was planned. “I’ve only heard that a retail center is to be built near Kozomín, but I don’t know anything more about it,” said Kralup deputy mayor Vojtěch Pohl. He is in the same situation as most of the people in the area, who, according to Deník’s findings, have only heard something vague or about the planned construction they didn’t know at all.
Connecting two highways with a bridge
The only complication related to the project could be additional construction in the future. The shops will be located in the places where the 3rd stage of the bypass connecting the D7 and D8 highways will lead, where a bridge is also planned. And that could make it difficult to get to the shops.
“We dealt with it. There are many comments and the visibility is probably really very far. We leave a territorial reserve there. If there is a jumper and bridging, it will not negatively affect our intention,” added Jindřich Kukačka.

Another novelty in the locality is the construction of another gas station, but it is not related to the project. The representative from Kozomín drew the newspaper’s attention to her. “I don’t understand why there should be three gas stations within 600 meters. One is already at the turn to the D8 highway, the second will be built right next to where i is planned, and the third is to be at the roundabout, where you turn to the halls, to Veltrusy or to Kralupy,” reminded Helena Maternová.
