Ukraine is ravaged by a new series of Russian attacks. At least two people were killed in a rocket attack on the eastern city of Pavlohrad on Sunday night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported. Dozens of others were injured.
The attack set fire to several buildings. Dozens of homes, apartment buildings, shops and schools were damaged.
The fatalities were two young men fighting for their country, Zelensky said in a video address. Forty other men, women and children were injured, he said. They have been taken to hospital.
Pavlohrad is about 100 kilometers from the front line. The city is a railway junction and can therefore be a strategic place for the Russians.

Moscow begins long-range strikes again
The attack is part of a second wave of Russian missile strikes in three days. It hit several places in Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv.
With the attack wave, Moscow is reviving the tactics of long-range attacks. They come in the run-up to Ukraine’s long-awaited counter-offensive. On Friday, 23 people were killed in an airstrike on the central city of Uman.
“The Russian occupiers get an answer to every attack,” Zelensky said. In the speech he also reported the death of a fourteen-year-old boy. The teenager was killed by a bomb at a school in the Chernihiv region, close to the Russian border.
