The Ministry of Defense announces the call for a second selection cycle in this year 2023 for entry as a Professional Military of the Troop and Sailorship scale of the Armed Forces. The total offered amounts to 3,416 positions, distributed among the Army (2,346), the Navy (580) and the Air and Space Army (490). Of the places for the Army, foreigners from countries with which there is a collaboration agreement in this regard can opt for 70 in concurrence with nationals.
Of these places, in Galicia and nearby areas, the Army calls for units of the “Galicia VII” Light Infantry Brigade (Brilat) 65 places in Pontevedra and 40 in Asturias. The Navy calls 117 places for ships and units in the area North (Ferrol, Tui, Marín, San Sebastián, Bilbao) and Tercio Norte de Infantería de Marina.For its part, the Air and Space Army summons four positions for the Air Surveillance Squadron No. 10 in Noia, 2 for the Santiago de Compostela Military Aerodrome and 10 for the Basic Air Academy in León.
To address this call, the selection process governed by a competitive examination system has already been launched in the recruitment area of the Defense Subdelegation in Pontevedra. The official document of the call includes the conditions to be able to participate in the process, among which the following should be highlighted: be 18 years old and not exceed the maximum age of 29 years on the day of incorporation into the corresponding military training center; have no criminal record and have not opened any legal proceedings for an intentional crime; be in possession of the levels of studies or the required degree, which at least will be that of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education or its equivalent.
To participate in the selection process it is necessary to request an appointment, for which it is available from June 14 to 28. Said request will be made through the website of the Ministry of Defense. The Defense Sub-delegation in Pontevedra stresses that “it is at the disposal of the interested parties for any clarification regarding the development of this selection process.”
