New Security System to Protect Moscow Airports from Drones, Birds, and Wild Animals

To protect Moscow airports from drones, birds and wild animals, the government of the Moscow region, together with the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CDBR), began creating a security system. Protection will be carried out using FPV air defense systems (FPV air defense) and FPV interceptors. This was announced by the General Director of the Central CBD Dmitry Kuzyakin.

“The technical complex (airport protection – URA.RU note) will include an automated security system to prevent terrorist acts. Testing of the complex is planned for the first half of 2024,” Kuzyakin said, TASS reports.

It is noted that during the implementation of the project, the experience of the Central CBD in ensuring airspace security using FPV air defense technology and FPV interceptors will be used. This experience was accumulated during the SVO, Kuzyankin emphasized. He also added that the project will use the latest developments of the Central Design Bureau in terms of special equipment for FPV drones – interceptors.

In November at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport installed complex for detecting and catching drones. It is called “ENOT-SD” and its purpose is to automatically detect low-flying targets, their verification and subsequent countermeasures. We installed a flight safety complex.
