There is a special premiere to celebrate in the 13th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race! On January 1st, the new episodes of the popular drag queen show with RuPaul (60) will start in the USA. 13 candidates will then try again with challenges, exciting catwalks and lip-sync performances to achieve the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and to win the prize money of 100,000 dollars. The special thing about the episodes: 2021 will be with Gottmik for the first time an openly living trans man take part!
Last Wednesday introduced the moderator RuPaul and the TV channel VH1 the new candidates. In addition to sonorous names such as Denali from Chicago or Joey Jay is with from the beginning of January Gottmik there was a queen who was once a woman. The drag artist, who now defines himself as a man, hails from Los Angeles and is a make-up artist with extremely celebrity clients. So missed Gottmik among others Kaia Gerber (19), Lil Nas X, Paris Hilton (39) or Heidi Klum (47) for the German show Queen of Drags one or the other extraordinary look.
Well has Gottmik to give the drag world a new facet with her show participation – she has long been no stranger to this profession. In addition to her VIP make-up clients, she has already worked for photo series for “Billboard” and “Nylon” and was featured on the digital cover of “Out”, the magazine for trans people, in the summer. With the candidate Peppermint, a trans woman took part for the first time in season nine of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. She took second place in 2017.
