Alberto Chicote There are triumphs and failures in ‘Pesadilla en la cocina’. It must also be taken into account that the businesses that seek the help of the chef are projects adrift, with debts that are impossible to repair and/or establishments that need a lot of coordination to function. During eight seasons, we have seen everything: waiters getting drunk in the middle of service, cooks leaving in the middle of service, owners leaving the establishment or Chicote almost throwing in the towel.

It seems difficult, but each program surpasses the previous one, at least in surprise for the audience, as seen in a business like this. This Tuesday, September 3, ‘Nightmare in the kitchen‘ premieres its ninth season with a very notable test for Chef Chicote: a traditional cuisine restaurant that has a cat walking around the kitchen, cockroaches on the bar and screams everywhere for any reason. Is Restaurant Nicasso still open after Alberto Chicote’s departure?

LaSexta describes the initial image of Nicasso, before Chicote’s arrival, as “a nest of problems.” Manel is in charge of the restaurant, although his son Jonathan has to help out frequently due to the lack of service. The restaurant is characterized by offering traditional Catalan food, it even has “paellas to taste,” which they now have for takeaway. Restaurant Nicasso, with which Chicote is launching the new season of ‘Pesadilla en la cocina’, is located on Calle Joan, 1 in Barcelona.

As is traditional, the LaSexta programme carries out a radical change of the premises and the menu. Another thing is that there are establishments that, despite many aesthetic and gastronomic changes, continue without any direction. At Nicasso, the business is complicated, the level is high and even more so when it is a restaurant with 25 years of history. The programme was recorded just after Christmas this year. The cameras arrived at Joan, 1 around 15 January, so it has been almost seven months since the recording until the broadcast on LaSexta.

As can be seen from social media and Google reviews, Restaurant Nicasso is still open, and even during certain time slots there have been more people in recent days than in previous weeks. Calçots, a variety of tapas and “paellas to taste” are part of a menu that has been updated since Chicote left.

This is how the ninth season of ‘Pesadilla en la cocina’ begins, a programme that will soon broadcast its visit to a restaurant in Alboraya, where the filming crew was attacked with a “diaper full of excrement”.
