In the middle of last year, Corning released a new generation of Gorilla Glass Victus compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra as the latest, new technology from Qualcomm is also available to Samsung’s flagship smartphones. That is 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2.
3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2 is a technology to scan the fingerprint under the screen. As we will see for the first time with the Galxay S21 Series, it has improved the fingerprint reading area that is 50% faster, and the biometric data is stored 1.7 times more. Definitely more accurate
Qualcomm states that the 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2 has an area of 8 x 8 mm more than before with an area of 4 x 9 mm, or 77% wider.
However, we have to see if this new sensor will be compatible with the added glass or protective film attached.
