“New Russian Drone Attacks and Explosions Injure 11 in Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi Region”

Ukraine reported new attacks by Russian drones and several explosions in Khmelnytskyi region, in the western part of the country, DPA reported.

Critical infrastructure was hit and people were injured, announced the mayor of the regional capital – the city of Khmernitsky – Oleksandr Simchishin.

Authorities said 11 people were injured. Railway facilities were also reportedly affected. After the shelling, Ukrainian Railways said there were delays of up to 12 hours on some trains and that substitute rail services had to be used.

According to the Ukrainian military, 17 out of a total of 21 Iranian Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones were shot down during the night attacks.

Meanwhile, Russian state media reported explosions in the Moscow-occupied eastern Ukrainian regional capital of Luhansk for the second time since Friday.

The city, which has been under the control of pro-Russian separatists since 2014, has so far remained largely unaffected by the war. Footage from today’s Russian media reports showed a huge cloud of smoke in the sky above the city.
