The drug test of the driver who transported them came back positive
Another action by the Interior Ministry against illegal migrants in the country. This time there was a contest with the police in Burgas.
Around 20:00 in the area after the town of Debelt, a mobile patrol of the Gendarmerie noticed the jeep with Sofia license plate, in which several people entered and left. The uniform signaled the car to stop, but the driver increased speed. It passes through the “Meden Rudnik” district and reaches the city center. On “William Gladstone” street, near the intersection with “Ivan Shishman” street, he collided with an empty parked car.
During the pursuit, the Gendarmerie patrol was joined by squads from city departments. After admitting to the traffic accident, a total of eight men got out of the jeep, running in different directions. Seven of them have been arrested. The driver of the car was found to be a 44-year-old man of Syrian origin who presented a British identity document. The detained migrants are Moroccans, the Interior Ministry confirmed. The last of the migrants is currently wanted by police officers.
The motorist tested negative for alcohol but positive for drugs. The car is a rental car.
