The waste management of the district in Eschbach would like to set up a new rubble dump. Now there was the green light from the regional council. The work is said to start “soon”. .
According to a communication from the district office, the waste management district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald (ALB) has received the planning approval decision for the construction of the Weinstetten rubble landfill from the Freiburg regional council. The ALB is planning to construct a building rubble dump near the Weinstetter Hof near Eschbach for the disposal of non-recyclable mineral waste. With the planning approval decision, the work could begin promptly, writes the district office. A construction period of around two years is expected before the first phase of construction is completed.
“The decision is a milestone for the ALB. We are meeting a great need here,” Martin Barth, first state official at the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office and operations manager of the ALB, is quoted as saying. “This creates an important new regional disposal option for our citizens, tradespeople and construction companies.” According to the announcement, the realization of the project will create a successor for the construction waste landfill in Merdingen, which has since been filled. With an area of more than ten hectares and a volume of around one million cubic meters to be filled, the landfilling of mineral construction waste is secured for the coming decades, it is said.
In addition, the property is located at an easily accessible point between the Breisgau business park and the Hartheim / Heitersheim motorway junction. The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the city of Freiburg are planned as catchment areas.
