In addition, it was indicated that in the coming days the vaccine against RSV will be available in all vaccination centers, health centers and hospitals of the Party.

The vaccine prevents severe forms of this respiratory disease. The objective is to provide protection of babies during the first six months of lifethrough the transplacental passage of antibodies.

Therefore, the recipients of this vaccine are pregnant people, between weeks 32 and 36 of pregnancy. The application of a single dose is contemplated before the start and during the RSV circulation season.

It is important to note that this immunization is added to the other vaccines indicated for the protection of pregnant people, such as the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine, which are applied in any trimester of pregnancy.

In addition, the acellular triple bacterial vaccine is applied from 20 weeks of gestation and protects the newborn against whooping cough during the first months of life.
