The interest on the two-tranche treasury bonds starts on August 10 and is paid annually on August 10 every year. The seventh and eighth installments will repay the principal and pay the last interest on August 10, 2026 and August 10, 2028 respectively.

How to buy treasury bonds? According to the previous 2021-2023 list of members of the savings treasury bond underwriting group, Changsha citizens can go to ICBC, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank, China Merchants Bank, CITIC, Industrial, Minsheng, Everbright, Huaxia, Guangfa, Ping An Bank , Zheshang Bank, Hengfeng Bank, Bank of Beijing and other 17 bank outlets. In addition, since the issuance is an electronic savings treasury bond, citizens can also purchase it online through the mobile banking apps of some banks. If the investor is buying for the first time, he needs to go to a bank branch or mobile banking app to open a personal treasury bond account. After the account is opened, you can subscribe through bank counters, online banking, mobile banking App and other channels.

The reporter learned that the Ministry of Finance has sold 9 rounds of savings treasury bonds this year, including 4 rounds of certificate-type treasury bonds and 5 rounds of electronic treasury bonds. Excluding the 5 rounds that have been sold, there are 4 rounds to be sold this year. According to the data disclosed by the Changsha Central Sub-branch of the People’s Bank of China, as of the end of July this year, Hunan Province had sold a total of 3.194 billion yuan of savings government bonds, and sold 641 million yuan of government bonds to the countryside (including for new citizens), accounting for 20.1% of the total. An increase of 12.8 percentage points.

It is worth mentioning that there have been three rounds of reductions in the coupon rate of savings treasury bonds this year, in March, May, and July. The annual coupon rates for the 3-year and 5-year terms were lowered from 3% and 3.12% to 2.85% and 2.97% respectively. The coupon rate of the savings government bonds issued this time was the same as that in July. Some “careful” investors have found that the coupon rate of savings treasury bond products has fallen again and again, and the income is no longer as good as time deposits, large-denomination certificates of deposit and other products. Many treasury bond investors are considering switching to other products. And other products have become the “first choice” of many investors because of their characteristics of “guaranteeing capital and interest”.
