From November 7, new trade restrictions will apply throughout the country. Most of the shops in shopping centers will be closed and the number of people in retail outlets will change. Do these restrictions also apply to construction and renovation stores and stores selling furniture? We answer.

Due to the growing number of coronavirus infections, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the introduction of new restrictions. They are to enter into force next Saturday, November 7, and will be in force at least until November 29.

Trade Restrictions

Restrictions also apply to trade. Among other things, there will be changes in the calculation of people limits in shops – 1 person per 10 square meters in outlets with an area of ​​up to 100 square meters and 1 person per 15 square meters in stores with an area of ​​more than 100 square meters.

Shops in shopping malls will be closed. Despite the restrictions, establishments are to remain open, where the main activity consists in the sale of food, cosmetics, toiletries, cleaning products, medicinal products, newspapers or books, articles for pets, telecommunications services, parts and accessories for motor vehicles or motorcycles, fuel .

DIY stores will be open

The exception also applies to establishments offering renovation and construction products and furniture. This means that you will be able to shop in stores such as Ikea, Leroy Merlin, or Castorama and OBI.

“All our stores remain open, including stores in shopping malls. In accordance with the regulation of the Council of Ministers of October 14, 2020, there are no hours for Seniors in OBI stores. Please be advised that covering the mouth and nose in the OBI store is mandatory. non-complying with this requirement, apart from persons exempted under applicable law, will not be served “- we read in the release OBI.

“Our stores are open from Monday to Saturday and on shopping Sundays. There are no hours for seniors in our facilities” – he informs Castorama.

“All our stores, including those in shopping malls, remain open and are not included in the hours for seniors” – it was written in the announcement on the website Leroy Merlin.

Ikea informs that the stores have a limited number of customers. IKEA dishes are only available to take away.

Please note that in commercial facilities it is mandatory to wear gloves or to disinfect your hands and cover your mouth and nose.

Other sectors of the economy

Cinemas, theaters, museums, art galleries will be closed from Saturday.

The eateries are still closed. They can only offer the sale of meals with delivery or take-away.

Hotel operations will also be restricted from Saturday. Only guests on business trips will be able to use their services.

Coronavirus in Poland

The Ministry of Health announced 27,086 new cases of coronavirus infection on Friday. This is the second highest daily balance since the beginning of the epidemic in Poland. The ministry also informed about the death of 445 people who were diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

This is the highest number of deaths since the epidemic began. In total, the infection in the country was confirmed in 493,765 people, of whom 7287 died. Almost 83,000 tests for coronavirus were performed during the day.
