The health pass is now requested in many places on the Italian peninsula, without the possibility of using a negative test to obtain it.

New restrictions come into force Monday in Italy, to fight against the spread of Covid-19 in the boot.
The unvaccinated face many restrictions
Customers will be required to prove that they have been vaccinated or cured of the disease to travel to hotels, convention centers or restaurants, as well as to use ski lifts in ski areas or to take modes of transport on long distance. European tourists can use the QR codes from their vaccination certification to travel around the country.
The Council of Ministers under Prime Minister Mario Draghi approved these rules at the end of the year. The decision tightens the measures applicable to everyday life, especially for unvaccinated people, because a negative test for the coronavirus is no longer sufficient to access many places.
Italy has seen a rise in Covid-19 cases recently. The latest seven-day incidence rate hit a record 1,669 new infections per 100,000 people nationwide. Much like in Belgium, school resumes Monday in most of Italy’s 20 regions after the winter holidays, and experts fear that classes will be left behind again due to the high number of infections among children. Rail transport could also be disrupted due to staff shortages, while many employees are contaminated.
