A recurring thing are so-called “fan pages”, for example “Europris Fans” and “Ikea Fans”, which appear to be real Facebook pages, but are just tricks with the aim of luring you to comment on the page.

– Be critical of sources

Rema 1000 has not responded to our inquiries over the weekend, but DinSide spoke to Celina Sjøberg, communications advisor at Rema 1000, about a similar scam before Christmas. She then stated that they are aware of such fraud attempts and that they are not happy that someone is impersonating them.

– We encourage our customers to pay extra close attention, and of course do not want any of our customers to be deceived, she urged at the time.

And, if you are unsure if the Facebook page is real, you can look behind the name of the page. A blue mark means that the page has been verified by Facebook.

– You will not see that on these pages. If you are unsure, be critical of the source. Look up the brand on Facebook and send a direct message, and we can confirm or deny, she continued.
