The new regulations to protect people’s bank details come into force in October. Which provinces will apply it?
The merchants of products and services of an Argentine province can no longer manipulate the credit or debit cards of the clients to collect their products, in order to avoid the improper use of data, when the law 5,648 enters into force in the province.
According to the new regulations that are in force since this week in Río Negro, the electronic payment terminals must be in a visible and easily accessible place so that it is the client himself who handles his card.
The rule provides for 90 days, that is, until next October 13, to adapt their electronic payment terminals, which must be in a visible and easily accessible place for consumers.
It will reach all people registered in commercial or service activities, in the Gross Income Tax.
Those who do not meet the requirements will receive sanctions provided for in the National Consumer Defense Law 24,240 and Law 5,414 Rights of consumers and users.
