New Regulations for Verification of Energy Meters in Ukraine: Exceptions and Requirements

According to the decision, submission for verification of water, gas, electricity meters, heat meters on the territory of Ukraine is provided within three months after the end of the heating period.

Exceptions

At the same time, equipment verification is not carried out:

• in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, for the period of martial law and state of emergency and within three months after its termination or cancellation in the respective territories;
• in the territories of active hostilities within six months from the date of completion of hostilities in such territories in accordance with the list of territories in which hostilities are (were) or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, approved by the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories;
• in the territories of possible hostilities within six months from the date of termination of the possibility of hostilities in such territories in accordance with the list.

Verification of equipment

For the calculation of the consumption of energy resources, measuring instruments must be used that meet the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Metrology and Metrological Activity”.

Electricity and gas meters in operation are classified as legally regulated measuring equipment and are subject to periodic verification and verification after repair.

Periodic verification of measuring equipment is a verification carried out during the period of operation of measuring equipment after a specified period of time (between verification intervals).
