New regulation from TFF to foreign player rule

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Board of Directors has changed the rules of Super League and TFF 1st League football player eligibility. In the statement made by the TFF, it was stated that changes were made by introducing some criteria to the foreign player rule.

According to the new status, 21 of the 35 football players who will be included in the squad will be foreigners, and there will be 14 foreigners in the 21-man match squad. In the starting 11, a maximum of 8 foreigners can play.

There will be at least 14 Turkish players in the squad and at least 4 of these 14 Turkish players will be born after January 1, 1998.

SUPER LEAGUE SOCCER ELIGIBILITY RULE

A maximum of 35 players can be included in the squad.

• There will be at least 14 Turkish players in the squad.

• 21 foreign players can be registered.

• There will be a maximum of 14 foreigners in the match squad.

• There will be a maximum of 8 foreigners in the starting 11.

Super League clubs, on the condition that at least 1 of them were born on 01.01.1998 or later, in addition to the right to list a maximum of 14 foreign national football players in the A team list, provided that they were born on or after 01.01.2001,
Having played in at least 10 matches for the national team of their country, including the national team under the age of 14, having played at least 3 times in total for the national teams under the age of 21 or A national team of their country, being in the top 20 in the world ranking list announced by FIFA on 23.06.2022. Provided that they have played more than 25 matches in total in the top or lower leagues of the country federations and meet any of the criteria, they can sign contracts with 3 foreign national football players during the transfer and registration periods and register them on the A team list.

TFF 1st League clubs, on condition that at least 1 of them were born on 01.01.1998 and later, in addition to the right to list a maximum of 8 foreign national football players in the A team list, on the condition that they were born on 01.01.2001 or later, the national team under the age of 14 to have played in at least 10 matches in their country’s national teams, including at least 3 times in total, in their country’s under-21 or A national teams Provided that they have played more than 25 matches in total in their lower league and meet any of the criteria, they will be able to sign a contract with 2 foreign national football players during the transfer and registration periods and will be able to register and write them in the A team list.
