Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – You don’t have to bother blocking someone’s contact on WhatsApp anymore. It’s enough to use the archive feature, so chat of certain contacts can be muted or mute.
By using this archive feature, the contact will remain in a state mute even if there is a new message. All chats remain archived and permanently saved.

When we receive a message, usually we will get a notification there chat new entry. However, when activating this feature, there will be no such notification, except for the name specified di-mention or reply (reply) message.
“Archive in WhatsApp allows organizing private messages and prioritizing chat important. Chat archives will still be archived and mute but you can still change it back,” WhatsApp wrote on its Twitter account.
WhatsApp also explains the purpose of this archive feature. According to the company, the archive feature is used to give users more control over their inbox on the platform.
This feature builds on the previous archive capabilities. Namely thread chat Individuals and groups will be unarchived if new messages enter the user.
Interested in using it? Users only need to enter the WhatsApp application. Then go to Chats settings and finally go to the Keep Chat Archived option.
