New Quake in progress? From MachineGames

If you read the schedule for this year’s QuakeCon, you can, if you read a little between the lines, assume that id Software and Swedish MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order) can have a new Quake game in progress. Namely, they will hold a panel there celebrating 25 years with Quake, which is a bit remarkable as MachineGames has not previously had too much to do with Quake.

Celebrating 25 Years of Quake with id Software and MachineGames: 2:05 p.m. ET – Kevin Cloud and Marty Stratton from id Software and Jerk Gustafsson from MachineGames discuss the impact and legacy of the original Quake on its 25th anniversary.

During the summer, there were rumors that MachineGames would make a new Quake and it seems that this QuakeCon panel may confirm this rumor.

As you know, MachineGames also has an Indiana Jones game underway, so it remains to be seen if all this is true when QuakeCon 2021 kicks off on 19 August.
