new punch action, or rather whip, at the Théâtre de la Cité

Following a call from the Coordination des intermittents Midi-Pyrénées (CIP MP), the Theater of the City of Toulouse was occupied by the intermittents of the show since last March 11th. On Wednesday, the police intervened in the early morning to expel the occupants at the request of the theater management who said: “These unauthorized gatherings represent a threat for the health of theater personnel, the safety of installations and equipment ”.

Expulsion does not mean abandonment

Despite the end of the occupation, intermittents do not intend to shut up their demands. Every week since mid-March, a punch action has been organized in symbolic places in Toulouse, targeting in particular therepeal of unemployment insurance reform which should be in place as early as July. Over the weeks, different actors have joined the movement. Today, seven other claims are carried collectively: withdrawal of the comprehensive security law, minimum life wage for all, requisition of empty public buildings for the night, more resources for the public hospital, recognition of the blank vote, constitutional rights for water resources and a public and democratic water management.

New punch action: “Party fair”

“The theater is expelled but the social struggle continues!”, Affirms the movement. This Friday May 14, a new punch action, or rather… of whip, entitled “Kermesse partie” will bring together the collective Aux Arts Etc, yellow vests, artists, precarious workers, intermittents of the show, the Coordination of intermittents Midi-Pyrénées, the union of artists and musicians of Midi -Pyrenees (SAMMIP), Sud-Culture, the National Confederation of Labor (CNT) and certain citizens.
