Performing arts and cinema will continue to be supported by the state, the government announced on Friday 11 February. Several aid schemes for these sectors affected by the health restriction measures put in place during the fifth wave of Covid-19 will thus be reactivated.
Among them, “a specific compensation device” will partially support “the loss of turnover over the entire restriction period” caused by the ban on the sale of beverages and confectionery in cultural venues, the government said in a press release.
“The National Cinema Center (CNC), the National Music Center (CNM) and the Private Theater Support Association (ASTP), which will manage this system, will benefit from support of 14 million euros”it is specified.
Will be reactivated “the sectoral support systems carried out by the CNM and the ASTP”for “take into account both the cancellations of shows linked to this new episode of the epidemic and the health restriction measures”namely the tonnage limitation in force until February 2 and the ban on concerts in a standing configuration applied until February 16.
Authors, whose copyrights have been reduced when their works could not be played due to the health situation, will be able to benefit from devices that are also reactivated.
Several artistic and cultural employment support schemes will also be extended until July 31. To know “artistic employment assistance in small-gauge venues (APAJ) and one-off assistance for permanent or fixed-term employment in performing arts from the National Fund for Long-Term Employment in Entertainment”.
