New PSVR2 features save your broken vases and controllers

PlayStation VR2 will get a variety of functions using the external cameras, such as reveals Sony in a blog post. Similar to competing VR headsets, for example, PSVR2 allows users to set up their own play area. When the controllers or headset move outside this area, the player will see the boundary in his headset. That saves broken vases (or expensive controllers).

This has to be set manually with, for example, the (older) Oculus Rift, but Sony shows in the blog post how this can also be done partially automatically with the help of a scan function. The remote cameras scan the environment, after which the user can adjust the detected playing area.

In addition, the PlayStaton 5 supports a camera that allows users to record themselves while using PSVR2. Finally, Sony announces a virtual environment in which users can immediately watch gameplay in 4K (2000 x 2040 pixels per eye). This means that you do not have to take off the headset to view recorded images on the television screen.
