New provisions for expired driving licenses and revisions, here are all the news for 2021
Basically, starting from 6 March 2021, these provisions will be implemented:
a) for expired or expiring driving licenses, an additional 10 months of validity are expected. The period to be taken into consideration is the one that runs from 1 September 2020 to 30 June 2021. For licenses that have previously benefited from the previous EU extension, an extension of 6 months of validity is envisaged.
b) with regard to car inspections, scheduled between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021, a postponement of 10 months is always foreseen.
What happens to the driver qualification cards?
News also regarding the driver qualification card (CQC). The validity of the Union ’95’ harmonized code marking affixed to the driving license or CQC, expired or expiring between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021, is considered extended for a period of 10 months from the date indicated on each document.
For those who, on the other hand, have already benefited from the first extension, only another 6 months of validity are foreseen.
