New problems for Palikot and employees. A major investor says enough is enough

“On January 25 this year, I will cease further involvement in the Manufaktura Piwa Wódki i Wina Group of Mr. Janusz Palikot. I do not intend to engage financial resources in projects about which so many doubts have been revealed.” – wrote Marek Maślanka in a statement. Until Thursday, the key investor of MPWiW.

Let’s clarify that Marek Maślanka through its company Kraftowe Alkohole until Thursday, it was the pillar of this strategy, financing current operations and employee salarieswhich Manufaktura has had problems with since June last year.

As we hear unofficially, disconnecting the financial drip is a problem for approximately 80 employees.

Bone of contention

According to our information, the arrangement between the businessmen was as follows.

Kraftowe Alkohole Marek Maślanki dealt with the acquisition of the goodsbecause Manufaktura did not produce itself.

Manufaktura was responsible for the distribution and management of the company. In other words: implementation of the business plan, which involves significantly increasing the reach by entering new retail chains with the offer. The businessmen reached an agreement in September. They were getting ready for the December harvest in the alcohol industry.

We hear that up to 18,000 were imported into the country. bottles of alcohol that have been tested and prepared for sale. The thing is that instead of being on store shelves, they ended up in a warehouse. They have been there since the beginning of December.

This prevented the achievement of the financial goal. In accordance with the company’s restructuring plan in the fourth quarter of last year, Manufaktura was to generate revenues of PLN 30.8 million. Unofficially, we learn that she earned six times less i.e. approx. PLN 5 million.

Of which, in the best month of the year for the alcohol industry in terms of sales, i.e. December, the Palikota company generated only PLN 800,000. PLN revenues.

For legal reasons, it was also impossible for Kraftowe Alkohole to lease a separate part of Manufaktura, which would have allowed Maślanki to take over the management. over a business he claims to have financed.

Will Palikot find a new investor?

How much money did Maślanka put into Palikot’s business? We don’t know that. However, we know that the combination of events described above contributed to the capitulation of a key investor, which Maślanka sparingly informs about in a statement issued on Thursday.

We agree that achieving the expected effects of the restructuring in which we have engaged – in the light of new facts – is impossible, and the entire process does not properly protect the interests of creditors – says Maślanka’s statement.

The president of Kraftowe Alkoholi emphasizes that much information reached him with a delay because he had “difficult access to documentation and reliable information on the condition of the Group’s companies.” He declares his willingness to sell all his assets to Janusz Palikot or a new investor.

“At the beginning of January 2024, Mr. Janusz Palikot publicly and, among others, in my presence, with the participation of representatives of the Manufaktura staff, declared that a new investor in his alcohol venture had been found,” Maślanka wrote in a statement.

We tried to contact Janusz Palikot by phone to comment on Maślanka’s statement. However, he did not answer the phone and did not respond to our message.

Palikot’s series of problems

Palikot was not indebted to the Provincial. On platform X he wrote:

Kuba, you idiot! I described the details of my cooperation with Kuba Wojewódzki (3 years!) and others in my new book ‘Kulisy Biznes-Show, or how I spent PLN 220 million’.

Palikot explained then that he used expensive crowdfunding because he had no other choice. Banks did not want to lend him money, and his company was not admitted to trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority notified the prosecutor’s office. The investigation into suspicion of classic fraud (Article 286 § 1 of the Penal Code) is conducted by the Lower Silesian branch of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office.

“During the investigation, procedural activities are performed, including interrogations of the injured parties, aimed at clarifying the circumstances that are the subject of the proceedings. Due to the interests of the preparatory proceedings and the performed and planned procedural activities, at this stage we do not provide further information regarding the subject and scope ongoing investigation,” informs the Press Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office in response to money.pl’s question about the progress in the case.
