New privacy features from WhatsApp

With a new public beta, new features are coming to WhatsApp that will allow users to choose who can see their profile photo, when they last logged into the app, and about who can see it.

According to the news of Webtekno, AR, version 2.21.230.15 of WhatsApp brings the new “My External Contacts” feature for certain beta testers. However, in addition to not allowing “Everyone”, “My Contacts” or “Nobody” to see your information, users will now be able to choose who they don’t want to see their profile photo, last seen or information about.

INFORMATION WILL NOT SHOWN

According to the published announcement; People who are using an outdated version of WhatsApp or haven’t enabled this feature yet won’t be able to see your information if you exclude them. When you block someone from seeing your last seen, you won’t be able to see that person’s last seen either. Therefore, when you set the last seen to nobody in your privacy settings, you may be able to see the last seen of the excluded contacts; but this is just an error.

All changes are not limited to this. With this version of WhatsApp beta, the company is also removing the option to disable the multi-device beta program, which means users can no longer opt out as the company plans to make this functionality one of the key features coming to the app.
