Successor Wilfred Genee
That such – as yet unconfirmed – statements are circulating at all, of course, has everything to do with the bang quarrel that the three gentlemen are currently in. It’s Derksen and Gijp versus Genee after the presenter cracked down on the two analysts in Monday’s much-discussed racism-themed broadcast. The analysts feel let down by Genee, who has no idea why it went so wrong. It is now such a big shit show that the broadcast of next Monday will not continue.
“They don’t want to stop”
According to Angela, it could just be that the men will come out together again. She points to other conflicts from the eventful history of WE; then it always worked out fine. Although: Angela emphasizes that the fight has never been so intense. To put it a bit positively: she is certainly hopeful that it is not yet one hundred percent sure. “It is a very successful program and I believe that Gijp and Derksen do not feel like quitting at all.” Why? “They make good money and it is of course also addictive, all the attention that the program generates. They count in the Netherlands. They are a factor in the social debate.“
