AvtoVAZ is preparing to introduce a new premium model LADA to the Russian market
Pictures of the FAW Bestune B70 sedan leaving the territory of the AvtoVAZ Engineering Center have appeared on the Web. It is here that all new cars are tested, notes the Avtograd News public. So, earlier, FAW Bestune crossovers were seen here, which will soon try on the LADA nameplate.
Recall that Besturn is one of the trademarks of the Chinese manufacturer First Auto Works (FAW). The brand has unveiled the third generation of its B70 and showcased its first portfolio of liftback exteriors. In the design of the headlights, we see the style of cars such as the CT5 and CT6 from Cadillac. In addition, the new generation B70 has a noticeable shoulder line curve and recessed door handles.
The new Besturn B70 builds on an entirely new foundation from parent company FAW: the FMA platform. The car, designed by the design house Italdesign, was upgraded in 2012 and was supposed to remain in this capacity until 2014.
Here, as in China, the FAW Bestune B70 is offered with two power units to choose from. The first is a 1.5 turbo four (160 hp, 258 Nm) with a seven-speed “robot” (two “wet” clutches), the second is a two-liter turbo engine (217 hp, 340 Nm) with a six-speed Aisin automatic. Both motors are deformed relative to Chinese specifications (where they produce 169 and 224 hp, respectively), but only the younger unit can run on “ninety-second” gasoline. A two-liter needs an AI-95. The drive is only front, the maximum speed is 200 and 230 km / h, respectively.
