The therapists and the city agree that there is a need. A new practice for child and adolescent psychotherapy will open on October 1st at Warsteiner Markt. Thanks to many helpers.

Warstein- The fountain show that is being created is not the only construction site on or at the Warstein market square. Although it is the more conspicuous one. On the floor above the “family doctor’s practice on the market” run by Dr. Sprissler, Dr. Beyer and Frohn, craftsmen are currently setting up the premises for a new practice for child and adolescent psychotherapy. The two therapists Nicole Rottes and Carolin van Moorleghem want to open there on October 1st. The two have been pursuing the idea for several years. Because, as Rottes describes: “According to the figures, there is an oversupply in the Soest district, but especially in the lower district area, in Rüthen, Warstein and Möhnesee, there is a clear undersupply.” And, as regrettable as the development is: “The need is clearly there, there are waiting lists of sometimes two years, patients sometimes have to travel three or four hours. We want to stand guard for the problems that arise.”

In the youth welfare office of the city of Warstein, applications for reintegration assistance have increased by 200 percent in the last three years. The preparation of an external therapeutic report takes well over six months. Almost 20 percent of children develop a mental illness within a year, the city said in a statement.

Support from the city of Warstein

The two therapists would like to extend a big thank you to economic development officer Dirk Risse for their search for a location. “He pulled all the strings together, was always available, and was a great help.” “The application was submitted to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians around nine months ago. Thanks to the great support of the city of Warstein, other parties involved and some local doctors, the difficult application process was successfully completed,” says Van Moorleghem, explaining her path to her own, freshly renovated practice, which covers around 160 m² – where the Klingende Haus used to be located. The two therapists have acquired the specialist knowledge through studies and a wide range of further training courses and are well prepared for this work in Warstein thanks to many years of employment in various practices and facilities, explains the city.

“We are extremely pleased that the cash desk has been set up for Ms Rottes and Ms Van Moorleghem and have actively supported this settlement with all our strength, as our children and young people in the city of Warstein are particularly close to our hearts,” commented Mayor Dr. Thomas Schöne.
