Pössl is known for two things among campers. First and foremost, the brand often scores points with low prices – even in vehicles where you wouldn’t otherwise expect to see cuts. For example, Pössl recently caused a stir with the Roadstar X, because the low price tag somehow doesn’t quite fit with the off-road Sprinter with all-wheel drive.

The latter is actually never found in motorhomes of this size. With the help of a flexible sliding door that is pulled across the width of the vehicle, the wet room is separated for showering or for more privacy.
With dimensions of 1.96 x 1.32 meters, the double bed in the rear is long enough, but unfortunately quite narrow. Another sleeping option is created by converting the seating area. With a length of 1.80 meters and a width of 70 centimeters, the bed is also suitable for adults who are not too tall.
The compact dimensions of the base vehicle make everyday parking much easier. You only need to be careful in underground car parks. With the H2 high roof of the base vehicle (Citroën Jumper, Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer), the driveway is usually too tight for the approximately 2.50 meter high vehicle.
The rest of the equipment on this affordable camper is also impressive. It includes the Truma Combi 4 auxiliary heater and a 100-litre fresh water tank (waste water: 90 litres). Alternatives are available for an additional charge.
For an additional charge, Pössl also installs solar cells on the roof, which feed the body battery (standard) with a capacity of 95 Ah. The equipment list also includes a hot water boiler. Cooking is done in the kitchen unit using gas instead of induction. Two gas bottles, each holding eleven kilograms, are available in the rear.
Price, availability and alternatives
The Pössl Roadcamp R can already be this point at the manufacturer The cheapest (54,630 euros) is the standard version with a Citroen or Peugeot base and 140 hp engine. With a Fiat Ducato base, prices start at 56,630 euros.
Finding an alternative to the affordable Pössl motorhome is not easy, but it is possible. The Forster V 541 is a good option. The Affinity Freedom 540, also 5.40 meters long, is also worth a look.
