The fire that broke out at the end of this Saturday morning in the Ermida area, in Vilar da Veiga, Gerês, is already extinguished, the CDOS of Braga told O MINHO.
In the place, under an intense heat, there were more than 60 firefighters and 15 vehicles of the firefighters from Terras de Bouro, Esposende, Famalicenses, Barcelos, Taipas, Amares and Viatodos, managing to extinguish the flames that plowed in the forest area.
The support also included two airplanes and a firefighting helicopter that were essential to stop the spread of the flames in a very sensitive area on an orange warning day in the district because of the heat.
The alert was issued at about 12:00 pm.
