The interior minister is due to arrive in the morning in the Gard prefecture, the scene of two separate shootings this week that claimed the lives of a 10-year-old child and an 18-year-old.
After the death of the first Monday, the CRS-8, a unit specializing in urban violence, was deployed in Nîmes.
At the microphone of RTL, Gérald Darmanin indicated that arrests had already taken place and announced the dispatch of “fifteen additional judicial police officers from yesterday (Thursday) to Nîmes because crimes cannot go unpunished”.
The Minister of the Interior indicated that this deployment was intended to “show that it is the authority of the State which prevails, not the authority of the dealers”.
“The raid has been there since yesterday (Thursday), it is carrying out operations. I asked five anti-drug dogs to be present and to crisscross the neighborhoods with judicial police officers to enter the apartments,” he said. -he adds.
